TeamGroup, an experienced computer hardware provider, often sends us to discuss their products. We have already discussed about their RAM and SSD. Examples are T-FORCE Zeus DDR4 16GB RAM or T-Force DELTA MAX RGB SSD .
This time, we also have two SSD units from TeamGroup . The first is the TeamGroup PD1000 Portable SSD which we already covered. The second is the one that will be discussed in this article, the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD.
There are quite a lot of products from TeamGroup. For information, TeamGroup is a company from Taiwan that has experience in presenting computer accessories. They often produce hardware such as SSDs , RAM, flash drives, and others. They have a product line called T-FORCE, which is usually for gaming needs and T-CREATE, which is focused on creators.
The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD itself is one of the interesting TeamGroup products. At least based on our experience when reviewing this product.
Oh well, as additional info, T-Create has two product lines. The first is T-CREATE Classic and the second is T-CREATE Expert. The Expert version is a TeamGroup product that targets the enterprise or enterprise level . Meanwhile, T-CREATE Classic is presented as a product for creators who need fast and stable supporting hardware .
The two T-CREATE product lines have several types of hardware such as M.2 SSD, 2.5 inch SSD, and Desktop RAM. Especially for T-CREATE Classic, there are also products for laptop RAM. The unit we are discussing this time is the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD which is an SSD product with an M.2 form factor. What does this product look like? Just take a look at the following discussion.

Based on the specification information, the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD comes as a product with an M.2 form factor but has a PCIe Gen3x4 interface with NVMe 1.3. This clearly makes the performance of this SSD faster than SSD with a SATA interface. Regarding the different types of SSDs, you can read more in the article that discusses the types of SSDs at Carisignal .
The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD itself has a faster version, namely the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe 4.0 SSD. This version has a PCIe Gen4 x4 with NVMe 1.4 interface which is faster than PCIe Gen3x4 with NVMe 1.3. However, the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD is fast and capable.
The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD that we reviewed is the 1 TB variant. On the market, there is also a 2 TB variant which of course has a larger capacity but also has a higher price tag.
Before discussing performance, we need to say that we tested the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD RAM on a PC with an AMD Ryzen 2000 series processor . The performance results do not show that when this SSD is used on another computer it will show the same results. There will be a slight difference of course if this SSD is used on a PC or laptop with different specifications.
We install the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD on PC devices with the following specifications.
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G
- VGA: MSI Nvidia 1050 Ti 4GB
- RAM: DDR4 2 X 4 GB
- Motherboard: MSI B350 PC MATE ·
- PSU: Simbada
Let’s first dissect the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD box. Like other M.2 NVMe SSD sales boxes, there is nothing special about the sales box. On the front, you will see information about products, capacities, and features that might be considered as selling points.
At the bottom, there is the inscription “unleash creativity” which shows that this product can be a support so that creators can be more free in their work. Information about “made for/by Creator” is also a highlight in the sales box along with other features. This seems to show that this product will be very suitable for content creators such as video editors, graphic designers, and others.
On the back of the sales box, there is complete specification information with a description of the ability to read and write. There is also an illustration of how to install this SSD on a Desktop PC or laptop, of course, if the motherboard has an M.2 NVMe slot.
At the bottom there is information about Teamgroup and also a warranty sticker complete with serial number. There is also information that confirms that this SSD product is made in Taiwan.
There is nothing special about this SSD design. Because most M.2 NVMe SSD designs have a similar shape. The only difference is that the top and back covers are usually filled with brand information. Like the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD, which comes with a white protector with product type information.
While on the back, there is a sticky note about the information that is already in the sales box. only this sticky sticker is recommended not to be removed. The reason is because if it is revoked, the product warranty will be void. Therefore, try for 5 years, according to the promised warranty period, not to remove the sticker.
The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD itself weighs 11 grams, relatively light like NVMe SSDs in general. The dimensions of the product have a length of 80 mm, a width of 22 mm, and a thickness of 3.7 mm. A fairly common size for an M.2 NVMe SSD.
Information about the actual features is clearly visible in the sales box. However, let’s discuss it again as complementary information. The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD is claimed to be a product for creators who always work multitasking and need supporting products with attractive designs and performance.
Some of the things that make the performance claimed to be good is the high stability feature . This feature works by combining a very reliable controller with a stable firmware. The goal is that this product can produce a very stable performance in handling various jobs.
There’s also a well-chosen 3D TLC Flash feature (3K P/E Cycle). This feature has passed rigorous tests to provide the best work environment so creators can focus on their creations without worry. In addition, this SSD also supports the ECC LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) feature. This feature provides a high level of capabilities that ensure data security and integrity in handling a wide variety of jobs.
Next, we tested the performance of the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD on a Desktop PC with the aforementioned specifications. We tried to find out first about this product through Crystal Disk Info. This information can be seen in the image below.
It can be seen from the picture, that the SSD that we tested was indeed a product of the Team Group with a capacity of 512 GB. There is also information about this SSD interface, namely the SATA NVMe interface with PCIe 3 x 4 transfer mode.
From this information, it is also known that this T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD supports the SMART feature. In simpler language, SMART is a feature to monitor, detect, and also report various problems that occur in storage. A feature that is actually quite common in SSDs.
There is no information about TBW (TeraByte Written) of this SSD on CrystalDisk. However, this information is already mentioned in the specifications section. In that section there is information about the TBW of this SSD, which is 600 TB.
For additional information, SSD is a type of storage that has a usage limit. This usage limit is indicated by the TBW (TeraByte Written) SSD. This TBW is characterized by the more use of writing data on the SSD, the less the lifespan of the SSD. For example, if the SSD holds 10 GB of data, then the SSD has performed a TBW of 10 GB.
If the TBW of the SSD is reached, the SSD cannot write data but it is still possible to read data. Generally, the TBW of the SSD is quite long. Usually up to 5 to 7 years or even more. With a TBW of 600 TB, it is clear that this product can be used for a very long time.
Next, let’s discuss the performance of the T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD. On the official website, this SSD is claimed to have a read speed of 2,100 MB/s and a write speed of 1,700 MB/s based on Crystal Disk Mark. Let’s test it ourselves to see the claim.
Seen from the data above, based on the CrystalDisk Mark 8 benchmark , this SSD has a read speed of 2.162 MB/s and a write speed of 1.701 MB/s. The speed is slightly higher than the results shown on the official website.
We also tested the read and write speed of this SSD using other benchmarks. We used AS SSD Benchmark 2 to see the read and write speeds of this SSD. The results can be seen below.
The results obtained are slightly lower than the results of CrystalDisk Mark. It can be seen that this SSD has a read speed of 1,894 MB/s for read speed and 1,578 MB/s for write speed. However, these results still show that the SSD speed is quite fast.
We also tested data transfer or file copy tests using the AS SSD Copy Benchmark. Here are the results.
It can be seen that this SSD is able to handle data transfer at a speed of 1026.85 MB/s in 1.05 seconds for ISO type files. Information about the speed of moving data is also visible for program file types and game file types. For comparison, the Team Group CX2 Classic SATA SSD has a data transfer speed of 449.06 MB/s in 2.39 seconds for ISO files .
With a focus on creators, we tested this SSD for the needs of content creators. We tested a 12-minute 4K video render . We rendered to full HD using the Filmora program installed on this SSD.
The results can be seen in the image. Required rendering time is 53 minutes. The results will obviously be faster if you use a PC with better specifications.
The T-CREATE CLASSIC PCIe SSD can be said to be an attractive SSD in terms of performance. Moreover, there is a 5 year warranty which makes this SSD even more attractive to buy. However, to buy this product, you have to spend around Rp. 2 million for a capacity of 1 TB.
Other similar products with the same specifications have a tag of under Rp. 2 million. This price issue can certainly be a drawback for those who have limited funds. However, this product can compete with other high-end SSD products, which makes it an attractive choice.
We can conclude that this SSD has several advantages. These advantages include
- Good and fast performance
- Appreciated features and guarantees
- high TBW
One thing that really bothers us is the focus of this product which is for creators. In our opinion, NVMe SSDs with gaming gimmicks and creators can both be used for various needs. do not need a particular focus. However, it seems that TeamGroup has its own views regarding this matter.
